WesCorp Business Continuity Communications

What is WesCorp’s new notification system?

The software system, provided through the resources of an outside vendor, Digital Mailer, allows WesCorp to send secured priority e-mail communications directly to selected individuals at our member credit unions.

How will WesCorp use the notification system?

WesCorp will use the system principally for business continuity and service interruption alerts. It will also use it for communicating service operation notices that impact the daily operations at a credit union.

How does the system work?

Just as a telephone service provider enables a person to place and conduct a phone call, Digital Mailer provides WesCorp with the software and delivery infrastructure to launch specific business continuity messages using e-mail delivery protocols. In the past, WesCorp relied on faxes for communicating priority messages. That delivery system proved to be inadequate since most faxes were placed in a mailbox and were never hand delivered in a timely fashion to their intended recipient.

What is different about this system?

In addition to delivering these critical messages via e-mail, the system also gives members the ability to select the specific operational topics for which they need to be alerted, because of their position and responsibility at the credit union. It also includes a number of other processes that provide for increased speed and ease in delivering a message to thousands of recipients in a matter of seconds.

How should I expect to receive these messages?

All notices will be delivered via e-mail. When a member receives an e-mail from WesCorp through Digital Mailer, the sender’s address will simply state either "WesCorp" or "WesCorp Member Communications."

Who is Digital Mailer, the vendor WesCorp is using?

Since 2000, DigitalMailer, Inc. has been providing the financial institution industry with the latest digital communication products. This digital communication tool box includes eStatements, e-LERTs, e-Checks, eSurveys, eNewsletters, and e-Mail Campaigns.

How do WesCorp members register to receive these notifications?

Officers and staff at WesCorp’s member credit unions are invited to complete a “Contact Profile.” The profile collects specific contact information on the participant that is reserved exclusively for the delivery of business continuity and service advisory messages. The service is available only to WesCorp members and there are no limits to the number of people a credit union could register for receiving these messages.
