CU Outlook: The Road Ahead for 2009 and Beyond

Credit Union Outlook, WesCorp’s annual Fall classic devoted to discussing financial markets and balance sheet management, drew a record audience of more than 400 credit union CEOs, CFOs and officers to the Wynn Resort in Las Vegas. The popular four-day conference presented a showcase of nationally renowned speakers, an assortment of experts from WesCorp and RSM McGladrey, and the return of the popular Stock Market Challenge.

Along with presentations addressing such topics as structured securities, an introduction to derivatives, understanding bond math, and creating efficiencies in the new payments world, attendees also heard from such notables as Ian Lyngen, Managing Director, RBS Greenwich Capital; Dan Feshbach, Founder, LoanPerformance; Matt Jozoff, Managing Director, JP Morgan; and Richard Sorkin and Robert Mailey, Structured Transactions, Fannie Mae.

WesCorp CEO Bob Siravo kicked off the seventh annual investment conference by reinforcing WesCorp’s financial strength. “The number one question that I get almost daily is “Is my money safe?” and “How is WesCorp doing?” noted Siravo. “And the answer is a resounding Yes! Your money is safe, WesCorp is safe and sound. Of the more than 800 securities that we hold, all of them are paying on time and as projected. That’s a very important point in today’s market. Because you get cluttered with so much information and for people who don’t normally deal with these markets, particularly for some of the directors, the news is disturbing to them. Let me assure you the corporate network is strong.”

CDs and MP3 recordings of presentations from WesCorp’s 2008 CU Outlook in Las Vegas are still available. If you missed a session or just want to hear it again, please mail in this Order Form.
